Reversible with much care and effort - plus UV curing adhesive...a new cyclops...much experience...

You would have to remove the cyclops, then buy a new cyclops and have a professional glue it back on.

My suggestion would be to buy a replacement crystal, remove the cyclops, and have a pro replace the crystal at your next service. Then keep the original in a safe place.

This would be the route I'd suggest, too. It would be very hard to line up a new cyclops onto the original crystal methinks.

Just a thought, but would a Sea Dweller Crystal work on a 16610? I know the cases are not exactly the same, but are the crystals?

Nope that is not the same, both size and how they sit in the case is different.

I have a 16610 and wanted to remove the cyclops. It's possible, but not easy, and then you're left with something that few people want, should you choose to sell the watch down the road.

So I opted for having a Daytona crystal installed on my 16610. Fits perfectly and I still have the old crystal with cyclops if I want to go back to the original look.

Heck a bezel insert can cost that much in the aftermarket, $200 for a crystal is pretty reasonable if you ask me...

I use to do like this when I try that on one of my DateJust´s.

I start with my cyclop remover kit.

Pull it up in my full size Bergeon case holder.

And start thr work.

Damn, Rolex have quality glue so I have to warm it up a bit.

Now I hope it will come off.

Ouups, not so good.

What do you think, did I have to change crystal? Or can it
be polished?

I guess it will be hard to get it back again.

Ever,

Good question about the relative thickness of a Daytona vs. Sub crystal -- I don't know. What I can tell you is that it is a Daytona crystal, it fits the 16610 perfectly, and it sits slightly above (not below or flush with) the Sub bezel.
