A Minolta Maxxum 5D with a 100mm macro lens... I'm new to the "macro" world of photography. I'm much better at scenic shots. Now I just need to work on the lighting and getting some of those spectacular shots that some on the forum can produce...

Very nice shots!

Please excuse these friendly suggestions if they are already things you know, but you did say you were new to macro.

-I would personally adjust for the chromatic aberrations (CA). If you shoot in RAW, you should be able to reduce or possibly eliminate the CA in the shots. If you shoot JPEG, you can still adjust and reduce the CA using the lens correction stuff in the distort filter sub-menu in Photoshop.

-Once you get your light box set up, stop down the lens. This will reduce or negate the CA - most good lenses only exhibit CA when they are wide open or nearly wide open. Stopping down will also get you deeper DOF.
