Silica Gel Packs
For those of you that keep any of your Rolex watches in your home safes, what do you use in the safe to help with any moisture that might accumulate in the safe? The safe I had purchased came with what they call Desiccant Silica Gel pack that absorbs moisture. The packs are about 4 x3 inches in size. I can't find anywhere here that carries them. Thanks for any suggestions that you might have.

Go to a shop that sells items we must not speak off. They'll have the silica to put in safes.

Cabelas or Bass pro shop sells them online. This is the plug in version, when the silica turns pink you plug it into a electric socket and it dries it out, takes about 12 hrs and it recharges/dries it all out and the silica turn back into a blue color . Ive had this one for about 3 years and its still going.

I think we're allowed to say "gun shop".
Photos of the gun shop are a different story.

I reckon that your GMTII can handle a bit of moisture.

My understanding is that Rule #6 is pretty specific: 6.CONTROVERSIAL TOPICS OR POSTS: No gun, knife, weapon threads or pictures of such since we are a worldwide forum and many members are not comfortable with this type of material. Infraction points and a possible lifelong ban will inevitably accompany such pictures, posts, or threads.

Googling "Silica Gel Packs" returns about 570,000 results.
Then click "Shopping" to narrow it down to the 3,170 types you can buy including the size you asked about.

I don't think that you can put enough silica gel-packs in a large floor safe to do much good..
Most safes have holes in the bottom so that if you are in a humid area you can run power for de-humidifiers.. However, if the watch is properly sealed moisture cannot get inside your watch; the gel-packs that come with them are generally to keep the box and packaging from damage, not the watch..

Thanks for all the input. I'll check some of the suggestions out tomorrow. I'm not concerned so much with the watches I keep in the safe but a lot of other items such as coins in leather pouches etc.
