A Very Special ROO LE
No, it's NOT the ROO LBJ
If you have read my earlier thread about my visit to APSC Singapore, you may recall I've mentioned that AP was going to launch a very special ROO LE. It was finally launched in September 2013 during the Singapore F1 season. There was no big bang announcement like the LBJ, but AP had chosen to launch this very limited LE, 20 pieces to be exact, while hosting their new owners who were specially picked by AP at a posh suite located at the GP paddock during an adrenaline-pumped F1 race evening. Looks familiar? Isn't it the ROO ref. 25721ST? Yes! On the dial side, it is a re-launched of the very first ROO design way back in 1993. Ref.25721ST is the mother of all ROO and really deserves a special treatment to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Offshore line. And so the birth of this very exclusive LE. AP has updated the original JLC-based movement with the in-house 3120 base movement. The LE comes with a sapphire crystal case back which exposes the exquisite movement with a beautifully engraved gold rotor. To me, this is the BEST Limited Edition and the most collectible one for a true-blue ROO collector. Even Mr Bottinelli himself is an owner! I was fortunate enough to have briefly handled his personal piece during my visit to APSC, and snapped a few photos to share here. Now, if only AP could update mine with a sapphire crystal case back... |

The display back looks like the 3120 movement in my 15400. So what they have done is just open the caseback and everything else is the same? What else is different? Is it in Platinum/WG or just SS?
Have to say your ROO with the rubber strap looks better than the bracelet. And I think it will look even better with the Navy Blue Hornback strap. |

Agree this is the BEST LE! Wish I was privileged enough to be one if the twenty chosen to have this very special piece. They should make more of this and not just 20 :((

It's a limited version of a 20 year old watch that will still be in style 20 years from now. |

I'd like to thank you for posting this, but I can't. It's killing me there's only 20 made!
The best Offshore reissued and only 20 made & going to select customers. Not even a run of 200 so the rest of us have a chance. This is the design & style AP should go back to.

I am hoping that AP can make all their watches with the displayback to let us see the beautiful movement especially the gold rotor

I 'hate' the 20 who got this special piece!;) These must be the top spenders at AP Sg boutique. Rewarding them with exclusivity. In the end money talks and the great divide of the haves and have nots done so well AP style ..
