Pearlmaster or President?

I have a big anniversary coming up, and my husband would like to replace my late 90's dj.

I thought I wanted a 26mm President with a diamond bezel because I am a small person, and my dj is a 26mm, but when I tried on watches, I decided the combo of the 26mm with a diamond bezel did not have quite the "wow factor" I was looking for.

So, I also tried on and am having a hard time deciding between the 29mm Pearlmaster and the 31mm President - both with factory full diamond bezel.

Could you tell me if one of the two has a much better reputation for dependability than the other?

Or if the band on one has more adjustability than the other? I have a very small wrist, and the oyster band has never fit me all that well, even with all of the links they can take out. I'd hate to spend all that $ on one and not have it fit well either. (We are going to have to go used.)

Further complicating the issue is I REALLY want a black roman dial and can't seem to find one. I don't know if there is any way to find out if you can get that dial for either/both of those watches and is there any problem with diminishing the value to switch out the dial?

Thank you!

Reliability is not an issue. Both the mid-size DJ and the 29mm Pearlmaster use the same movements..

As to what to get, the Pearlmaster is a good look and seen at the Country Clubs and fancy occasions. The 31mm mid-size is common at more casual functions. However, the 26mm Ladies President is still the most seen and worn and covers most functions admirably..

Depends entirely on the person, their lifestyle, and their comfort with the various sizes..

My wife won't wear the larger watches but does wear a Pearlmaster or a 26mm DJ with a tennis bracelet, unless the affair is formal, then out comes the even smaller cocktail watches..

Thank you. Very helpful!

Maybe since I have the dj (and a diamond tank Concord Sportivo that is on the sportier side), I should go with the Pearlmaster as it is dressier.

I do worry about scratching the heck out of that big ole' gold band because we have horses and I wear my watch 24/7, but I guess these are not meant to be mollycoddled. I have not noticed a scratching issue on the gold portion of my dj (oyster band) though, and it gets a workout!

My wife has the 31mm President with factory diamond dial and bezel. She loves it and is now considering adding the WG Pearlmaster. Both are equally nice.

I have worn the ladies' SS/platinum Yachtmaster for more than a dozen years. I love the bezel, and would not think of getting another Rolex without one, except for the Pearlmaster. Man, I love that watch. As between the two I would get the Pearlmaster in a heartbeat!

Depends on taste of course. My wife has worn a WG DD for years and loves it. She has one with a diamond dial as well to dress it up a bit. I think it makes a great daily wearer or better yet she does. As for the PM it is also a great looking watch and she wants one some day as a third watch. I would have a look at both and even try them in to be sure and go with one that sings to you more! Congrats in advance and either way you win! Cheers,

My wife's 31mm Everose

Bought this beauty for my wife's 20th wedding anniversary this year. She loves the watch and it looks spectacular on her wrist. Good luck on your decision.

Aloha,

Tom

Thanks, everyone.

Boopie, that info was helpful. When we got my dj, we looked at a Yachtmaster at the same time, and I often wish I had gotten it instead. (I do love my watch too, though.) Knowing that you like the PM makes me think I would too.

I think I am leaning toward the Pearlmaster, as I do like things that are on the unique side.

And beautiful watch, Tom! She is a lucky lady! :)

Hey Nancy! I got your message. Yachtmaster was (and still is) my 1st love. Had it last year but eventually returned it. Nothing wrong with it just didn't feel like I didn't deserve it that time since I purchased a pam111 a week before that. I got too excited I guess! lol Anyway, going back to your question, my dj is a 26mm and it fits perfectly on my small wrist. If I'd get my yachtmaster back, I'll go for the medium 31 (almost same as the size of my pam), so it really depends on the style for me. About your question between a pearl master and a president, I'll go for the pearl master for the sophisticated, classy look. But if you want a a bold statement, the President is always the way to go! ;) Good luck on your next precious one! =) Post some pix when you get it! =)
