Buyer's market?
I'm sure anyone who's been looking in the FS section has noticed the excellent prices and availability.
Good buying opportunity??? Who's taking advantage? I'm inclined to pick up a piece or two |

I've noticed the same, prices seem a little soft and it does look like a good time to buy.

Been watching the FS section and the prices seem reasonable.
The hardest part is finding exactly what I'm looking for...

When I recently sold my SD that was freshly back from RSC service, there were a lot of "looky lou's" who were certainly trying to make it a stealers market!
It took 2 months, but I finally found the right buyer to make the deal at a fair price for both of us.

Seems to be a buyers market with the very attractive prices being offered but I am off the buying spree right now as I have more or less focused and very satisfied with the Crowns that I have.
Plus there is another addiction that I am funding now ... no it's not drugs ;) more of the writing kind. |

If "vintage" includes 16610LV and 16613 blue dial, then I agree. Prices on the LV seem headed up, and the 16613 bluesy are at least the same, if not more.
These, along with a DJ, are my grails - have been for a while. My ideal collection would be the 36mm Expy and 16710 Pepsi I have now, plus these three, which would together cost, coincidentally, about what a year of my daughter's public college sets me back. Hence their grail status as opposed to in-my-safe status. |

The reason you'r seeing "good" prices or price declines is because Rolex hit the wall with their pricing and market is finally responding.
Let's look at the current submariner with date. If Rolex would increae its price (due for increase, after a year of no increase at all), the watch would be $9000 plus tax, depending in which state you live, it would be out the door ALMOST 10 GRAND FOR A STAINLESS STEEL SUBMARINER. That is ludacris and insane. So Market is finally responding, ADs are discounting. Before it would be impossible to get 15% off on Submariner, now you'd be a sucker if you don't get that discount at AD. Personally, i think prices on TRF will drop even further, so sit tight. Just look at all the "bumps" on classifieds page. Sellers are "protecting" the market by holding asking prices, but I guarantee you, actual sale prices are dropping and the spread between asking and sale price is widest it has ever been. |

I have seen some excellent prices too! I guess maybe since it's been awhile since the last price increase? And of course the market comes down a bit.... |

the 2k sterling , 3k dollars sub isnt that far away .
ive always judged the state economy on the price of a gold day date . yes the older ones are getting older , but the prices are dropping. things still arent at the base level yet. |

I got my Explorer II 216570 for a great price. LNIB as well. Not from TRF though. The deals are out there if you know where to look. It's definitely a buyers market, economy and job market still suck and alot of the MSRPs are very inflated.

You must have not seen the prices on steel PP or AP 3-hand watches with a date. Yes they may be better decorated, but at 2-3x the Submariner price.
