You never actually own a Rolex...
You merely take care of it for the next generation. (forget Patek!)
This watch I inherited from my father when I was 14 years old, when he upgraded to a Day-Date President. I couldn't really wear it then, so it sat safely in a drawer until a few months ago. I just got it back from its first service in over 25 years. My dad's been gone now over 13 years, but now I can be reminded of him every time I check the time. For the curious, the Day-Date's still in a drawer; I'm waiting for when I make partner. |

inheriting a watch from a loved one for a man is great, something that he can always bring with him and look at and always remember.......very touching!

What a wonderful gift your father passed on to you. I'm not talking about the watch per say but the gift of remembering him every time you look at it.
I intend to do the same for my two sons. |

I wish my dad wore watches, I'm still buying him a Rolex for his 60th bday. Maybe his 55th if I save up in time
