Thanks! There really isn't a way to ever duplicate that feeling again. I've wanted one for close to 20 years, when I saw Sean Connery wearing that Submariner in the James Bond film, "Goldfinger." I was a kid when I saw it, and knew someday I'd have a Rolex. I went into the AD to get a Submariner Date, but once I saw this GMT I fell in love with it, and since I travel a bit, it made more sense on a functional level. Since I had bought an engagement ring less than a month earlier at the same jewelry store (which cost more than the watch), they cut me a pretty good deal on the watch. I am super happy to finally have made this happen. Naturally, my mind is already focused on which one to buy next. It'll be at least a year or two before I can do so. Both my grandfather and father had day date presidents, but those aren't really my style. I guess we'll see...

Good choice! Wear in good health. Either version of the current GMT is prob the best all round rolex in my opinion.

Congrats on the BLNR, and I would still go for the Subc

Thanks, and I plan on it. That sub still just kills me. Try not to laugh at me too hard since I'm new to all this, but why is the GMT I have referred to as "BLNR?"

The BLNR is the part of the model number that identifies the blue and black bezel. You have a 116710BLNR. The all black bezel model is 116710LN.

Lovely!
That's the one I'd buy next.........unless they release the New Coke!
Apparently Rolex are stockpiling them up to meet the demand after Basel 2014!
(just made that up, but it's good fantasy/rumour don't you think?)
