First Rolex QC F Up

So, the BLNR i got had a manufacturing defect on the dial. Small white dot between 6 and 7 oclock. See pic

This is the same watch that i wrote about earlier, where date wheel is way different than the one in LN gmt. Numbers on date wheel are smaller.

Lesson of the day. At 1m piece production, make sure you do the full inspection before you take it home, even when buying from AD brand new

I highly doubt they will offer an exchange! It's not the best but at least you know they will sort it under warranty.

This is an unfortunate issue with any mass produced item regardless of cost, bound to have a few QC misses.

Stickers are not peeled its bnib.
If i send it back, it will come back as a "used watch" bc they have to open it up, change dial, and pressure test it when done

I made it clear to AD that i want the watch back w all stickers and in same condition.

I can read your serial number in the pic ~ hope it doesn't end up on 1,000,000 Chinese fakes...

what I just don't get about these types of situations is that this isn't something that you did....you purchased the watch that way...why do they have to make things difficult for a customer that just dropped over 8k on a timepiece? this shouldn't even be an issue...you should have been able to walk in there...express your displeasure with the situation and make it clear you want a new watch...thats it....and thats all it should take....

I have been fortunate to have avoided this problem, but shouldn't the AD have looked this over with a loop before releasing to a customer?

That really sucks. When I bought my Sub I was concerned of something like this happening. I took a pair of magnified reading galsses to the AD and looked the watch over through them for about 10 minutes. Left, came back the next week and did it all over again on the same watch until I was 110% satisfied that all was in order before I punb cash on the counter. They might have thought that I was nuts but I didn't care, my money and I'm planning on having that watch until I die...
Please keep us posted on this, sorry it has happened to you.

Spot on. Why exactly do they get away with this. Is it because we let them somehow. It's ridiculous.

Sorry to hear. I sympathize with you. Can't imagine the feeling of spending $9K on something and not being able to enjoy it.
Hopefully, you'll at least get a speedy solution.

Since it's new. Can it be returned and just buy somewhere else, just curious.

Doesn't warranty cover manufacturing defects such as these?

If they decline to replace it, say you want a refund. They'll replace it.

I'd keep it as is and get it taken care of when serviced 10 years from now.

In no time you'll have plenty of scratches, dings, and gouges so you won't even notice that.

No way,...couldn't live with that. I would see it every time I looked at the watch.

Absolutely right. If I scratch it or mess it up, that is one thing. If it is something of their own doing, I expected it to be taken care of.

My wife likes luxury handbags and considering their level of quality, if she finds a bad stitch or defect right after the purchase, they exchange it with no questions asked. I don't even question it, because she's right. The workmanship should be flawless.
