Returned: Rolex Cellini
Six months ago, my condo was broken into. After months of hoping, I finally accepted that the watches were gone and that I would never see them again. About a month ago, I walked into a local jewelry store to see if they had any new inventory that might appeal to me.
I was immediately drawn to a Rolex Cellini that looked identical to one of the watches I had stolen. After a bunch of back and forth, it did, indeed, turn out to be my watch. Thankfully, the store had all of the information of the individual that sold them the watch, and there is a warrant out for his arrest. So, after months of waiting and wishing, I finally got my watch back yesterday. This one was the most important to me to get back, actually, as it was one that my father used to wear. This was really a lesson that good businesses and good people still exist, as the jewelry store that had the watch could not have been any nice or more cooperative. |

Glad to hear you got one of your watches back. Hope the others find their way back to you too and that they pop the jackass who stole them in the first place.

It is fortunate that you happened to walk in the same jewelry store that happened to buy stolen merchandise and you saw it before someone else bought it. Imagine if you had not...someone else would be wearing it and you would never see it again.
Since you said plural "watches" what happened with those? Still missing? Perhaps once the thief is caught he can tell you want he did with those as well. Would be nice to recover them all! Anyway, glad you got one of them back at least!

My friend's dad's storage unit was broken into several years ago. Guitars and audio equipment. The guitars were worth some money, but mostly had high sentimental value. His dad posted photos and information about some of the guitars on a couple of forums.
Sometime later a guy at a pawn shop called him and said some guy came in and sold him a few of the guitars. Pawnshop owner actually saw the forum post earlier and intentionally wrote the guy a bad check and called the Sheriffs office. Guy called to complain about the bad check and the pawn shop owner told him to come back in to for new payment. When the guy came back in, the deputies were waiting. |
