NFL-- getting late--- game 15

A lot of exciting football heading into the last 2 weeks of the season... Even though my GIANTS are done I really love looking forward to the playoffs!!

I didn't think this could be correct so I looked it up. It is correct, the NFL is a tax exempt organization under 501(c)(6) status. Essentially this means that the individual teams support the league office and related overhead out of their revenues. The teams are taxed individually but the league is exempt. Since most revenue is funneled to the individual teams taxes are collected. However, the league benefits from this status and avoids taxes in the same manner that trade organizations are exempt. This is a different provision than the one that covers charities which is 501(c)(3).

I certainly hope so! I haven't been to a game yet this season, but I may go freeze on the metal bleachers for a playoff game. Although watching on tv becomes more appealing as I get older.
