Quick poll - AP ROO Nov SS OR AP ROO Nov Ceramic
Hi Guys,
I hav shortlisted 2 Offshores available to me for immediate delivery. One is the ROO Novelty in Stainless steel and the other is the ROO Novelty in Ceramic. The Steel one looks great on the wrist and i love how it pops with the colour contrasts of silver/white, black and steel. Very noticeable. The Ceramic is very under the radar although I do believe it will shine under the right light conditions. Also the quality of the finishing on the ceramic has to be seen to be appreciated. Which would you guys choose and why? Bear in mind there is a huge price differential between the two. Appreciate your comments, tks :-) |

You should post a poll. Ceramic for me. All black more stealth and I had a Legacy which I loved.

Definitely the ceramic for me. No contest. In this particular case actually, I think the Ceramic actually is the more "shouty" watch and shines better. Would have got this if it is available in 42mm.

I vote for the AP26400SO, because the all ceramic version is too dark imho. The steel with the shiny dial is more charming in my opinion.

HMMM...tough one...I had the 44SS and thought it was fantastic, but also really like the new ceramic pieces...
For me, it would probably depend on the price point...I don't know what prices you are getting, but if you are paying list, then probably the ceramic since it's a bit more but the newest model/material. In the more likely scenario that you are getting a better price on the SS since it's been out for a while and not much off the ceramic, I'd go SS. |

SS for me. The colours blend nicely; silver dial, black ceramic bezel, the red chrono hands..
The ceramic just too black, too dark. I think the SS can be worn for casual and more formal wear, as the ceramic more sporty/casual. For your consideration Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

To me the ceramic is way too dark without enough contrast. The stainless steel pops much more to me. Of course if durability in terms of resistance to scratching is a concern then obviously the ceramic wins. But I just don't like the lack of contrast on that watch but of course that is a subjective opinion. Everyone's aesthetic tastes are different.

For the price of the 44mm ceramic I would spend a little more and get the RG 44mm. |

I actually prefer the FC over the ceramic and SS. Maybe the SS between these 2.

My preference for 44mm Novelty: PT > RG > SS > FC > Ceramic

I like the light weight of FC on the big watch and it keeps the watch looking new all the time.

SS. You gave several caveats in your description of the ceramic. |

I prefer the SS, and for the same money I would get the SS and a RO, rather than just the Ceramic, if I didn't already have one.

Tough one...
I have yet to have the 44mm Ceramic on my wrist, but I have the 44mm FC and love it. I like how the 44mm FC is very stealth - but is really really cool in natural sunlight. I've seen pics of the ceramic in natural sunlight and it looks cool too. Tough part is I would mind picking up the 44mm SS b/c I really like then dial and like heavier watches. Tough choices ahead - good luck on your decision... |

Hi there,
I am also facing the same dilemma and I am therefore curious to know the outcome of this Quick Poll. So far it seems that the ceramic has the upper hand, and therefore I want to revisit the subject. I have the opportunity to get the AP ROO NOV in CERAMIC right now or wait a few months on the AP ROO NOV in SS. PROS/CONS: There is obviously a small price difference between the two, but that is manageable. The SS is already a few years old, whereas the CERAMIC is much newer. The appearance of the SS is much more AP, whereas the CERAMIC is more low-key. This would be my first ever AP, as the remainder of my collection consists of Rolex's, Panerai's, a IWC and Chopard Mille Miglia's XL. I like the size of the AP ROO NOV and therefore this is my preferred choice. I look forward to your suggestions and especially from those of you that own one of these watches or perhaps both already. Thanks, Aldino |

Ceramic All the way
I think the ceramic is way better than the steel version. Nobody finishes ceramic better than AP. It is probably one of the best AP ROO i have tried on recently.
