Incoming!!! Closing Out the Year with a Bang!
Finally, the second watch of my Christmas/1000th post double incoming has arrived. It has been a somewhat long journey for it to get here. I fell in love with this piece when I first saw it online and ordered it immediately. I was originally informed that it was going to take two weeks for it to arrive but it ended up being closer to six.
I knew for sure weeks ago that it was time for me to pick up my first "dress" watch and was I was sold on it being a Jaeger LeCoultre. So I found one that I liked and placed an order. As the weeks went by I began to doubt my original choice so I took multiple trips to my AD to try on various other options. I narrowed it down to two pieces, my original order, the Master Calendar and the Master Ultra Thin Moon. I thought about it daily for the next week or so and weighed the pros and cons to each model. I arrived at the following conclusions for myself: Master Calendar: Nice complication at this price point. I actually prefer a thicker case and liked the larger bezel. Love the design and balance of the dial. Has a much more "youthful" appearance. MUT Moon: Beautifully simple. Elegant and sophisticated. A real classic, timeless design. Lovely, thin case. Fit my smallish wrist perfectly. In the end, I had the opportunity to try on both pieces and then some. I sat there for a while and ultimately went with my gut and couldn't be happier. Thank you everyone for answering my questions and for your insight. Without further ado, my final watch purchase for 2013!! Have a happy and safe New Years everyone!! |

Great looking watch, but did they really send it through a common carrier, with the name of the watch clearly marked on the box?

looks awesome!! BTW, with the annual calendar, do you have to flick the dates for some months that are 30?

Thanks everyone! I have a good feeling about this one...hopefully it's a keeper

With this particular reference you indeed have to manually adjust the date for months shorter than 31 days. |

I've been following your adventure with your AP 15400 and am considering a 15450. Then yesterday I found an article about the JLC MUT Perpetual Calendar on hodinkee and went gaga with the rg version. I quickly came here to look for further information and found this thread. Man, 2 new watches in a year, how do you decide what to wear? I'm still in love with my first purchase from the summer! Love, love the moonphase. JLC is pure class. Congrats and happy new year! |
