What should be bezel of a 1603?
should it be plain stainless? fluted stainless or white gold? the bracelet of mine is jubilee and i just inherited it from my dad, it has a plain bezel, but according to one watchsmith the bezel should be fluted because it has a jubilee bracelet..My dad can't remember changing bezels but is not the original owner. the watch is circa 70's. thanks

1600 = smooth SS bezel, 1601 = WG fluted bezel, 1603 = Machined "coin edge" SS bezel
Oyster bracelet was typically paired with the smooth bezel 1600, but not necessarily an absolute. Have you pulled the bracelet and looked at the case number reference? That will tell if it is a 1600,1601 or 1603 not uncommon for people to change bezels. I put a WG fluted on my 1603..so, it looks like a 1601. Post a pic when ya get a chance and welcome aboard TRF ! |

Isn't a 1601 just a gold bezel, white or yellow (or sometimes pink)?
