Diamond Dial's Yes/No? White Gold Sub

So my friend and I were debating if diamond dials on a mens watch look good and make sense for daily wear ... I was thinking no, he thinks that it gives the WG watch a sense of class ... what do you think?

Pictures for reference:

Plain

Diamond Dial

Thoughts?

I am a female and for a man I MUCH prefer the plain. IMHO The diamonds…on any watch…..for lady yes, not so much for a man. The first choice is great!

I chose not to have them on my WG Sub as I find the lume useful at night.

But they both look great and Tom has one with the diamond dial and will be in a better position to comment....... although I think his wife may have commandeered it......

I do not like diamonds on mens watches and I have no diamonds on any of mine. People should get what they want but I agree, why have gems on a sports/tool watch?

Not for me, I like the gold font on the black gold sub but wish that came without diamonds as well.

For me, personally, no diamonds. I do have to admit though, the pic you posted with the diamonds on the dial do look nice. Just not my cup of tea though.

I also like Steve have the plain dial WG Sub and enjoy it. With that said I have diamond dial on my platinum DD and love it as well. To each his own and do whatever you like as it only matters to one person and that is respective owner of watch. For me I could truly care less what anyone thinks of any of my watches as I didn't buy them for them or for their approval! Cheers,

The diamond dial is very subtle, so a big YES for me.
Now, if the 6 & 9 hour markers had baguettes I would be a bit more hesitant, but this sort of low touch diamonds are nice.

I prefer no diamonds on sport models. I only like diamond markers on DJ and DD models

I think non diamond is cleaner. the diamonds are not a big deal and do add a little something special

Honestly I got the diamond dial because all my wife's jewelry is white gold and diamonds so we both were the watch but it is a back up for me when I dont want to were my YM

the pics you post do neither justice you must go see them

gotta admit this looks nice....must see in person and people who have not probably should to appreciate it,...

for size reference and why I love the YMII

Yes on the diamond dial. I own a Sub-C (YG) with the diamond dial, and love it!

Not my cup of tea, but I also have nothing against it. If you like it, then why not? Life is too short to worry about a few stones

Just not big on diamonds myself, but it is low key as some of them go. Still, it takes sort of conflicts with the whole low profile WG thing.

Well you could also say why have a sports/tool watch made of gold?

Personally this white gold sub is probably going to be my next watch. I love it. And I am usually not in to diamonds/gems on my watches, but this diamond dial is one I might consider. It's pretty low key and I think makes the watch even more special. I like it, although when I do buy this model it will be without diamonds just because I like to fly way below the radar.

I don't think it looks bad at all but I would not get diamonds on a Sub type watch. The above poster makes a good point about "Why have a sports/tool watch made of gold". When it comes to watches buy what you like and be done with it.

It's all personal taste. I don't subscribe to the 'sports watches shouldn't have diamonds' belief. Does a true 'submariner' need an expensive rare metal dive watch? Do folks really buy this man-jewelry for diving? And, hopefully, no one will say diamonds are for women. After all, it's ok for women to wear watches created for men, right?

Oh - and 'yes' for diamonds.
