hey guys this is my first post on this forum after i have been lingering on it for almost 2 years ( but i didn't have anything to post about) so i have finally bought (a week ago) my grail the submariner ceramic 114060 and i love it , and couldn't be more satisfied with it . however when i went to the rolex boutique they didn't have the dssd and i was so excited that i didn't care , and proceeded to the purchase but now i think the dssd is growing on me i really like the design and the shear thickness but am worried about it not being an ideal everyday wear (since i wear my watch everyday ) and being too bulky... so what do you guys think ? should i exchange ? i dont mind the money difference . i am in need of some opinions. here are some pictures [ATTACH] Name: photo 3.jpg

Well you have to get what you honestly want in your heart. When spending this amount of money you should be absolutely satisfied with your purchase. Me personally, I have the 114060 and if I had to get rid of everything it's the one I would keep. To me it's perfect in every way. I think the DSSD is a remarkable watch in its technical prowess but I do think it's a bit large as an everyday watch. If you can save up and have both it would be a perfect scenario but TO ME if it's going to be an everyday watch I think the Sub C is a better overall choice.

you have the Rolex main man and a real keeper and probably way better as a daily wearer, that said I really love the DSSD and used it as an almost daily for two years.

I prefer it over the sub but the forum would probably lean the other way, for most the technology does not overcome the somewhat cumbersome size

for me the size was a bonus

you need to have it on your wrist and sized correctly before you or anyone decides, in your situation I would do this pretty soon!

I'd stick with the 114060. The DSSD is a fantastic piece. Almost as big as a YM2 but much thicker. It's a badass watch. If you can get away with wearing a badass watch all the time, then by all means trade up.

The 114060 is a fabulous watch. Don't second guess yourself for a moment. You will love it.

For my 2 cents, I had the DSDD, but was not comfortable to me... The SUB no-date will be the last watch I buy, to me, it's perfect...

For your first and a daily, I'd keep the Sub. Mine has been with me for a long time and I have no plans to ever sell it.

In the future you can add a DSSD for weekends if you'd like.

I also have the 114060 and I don't see myself selling it at all, I am also wondering about the Dssd as I have never tried one on. I never even consider it but know I am thinking about it , if I ever buy one it will be an addition not a replacement to an already perfect piece

The only way to get the uncertainty out of your head is to go and try on the DSSD. Honestly, not a lot of wrists can pull off a large and tall watch, I know I certainly can't.

But, your watch is a fantastic piece for an all rounder. However, like the old adage goes, you always want what you can't have. So even though you have finally gotten your "grail", you will find another grail to pursue soon enough. Trust me... In the meantime, enjoy that quality piece!

Congratulations on your Submariner, try on a DSSD to see if you can handle the thickness but I'd be inclined to keep exactly what you have.

The DSSD is 44mm, and Rolex Oysters wear larger than their size. Do you have the wrist to support such a watch?

Also, the 114060 is a better everyday watch. It goes well with a suit as well as a swimming suit. If you get the DSSD, Do you have other watches for other occasions?

Since you wanted an everyday watch, what you have is a great choice, Congrats!

To help answer your question: You REALLY have to try on the DSSD to know if you would really like it as much. The case is definitely thicker and a bit top heavy, depending on the type of shirt you wear for work, the DSSD might need to also remain outside the cuff, the dial of the watch looks more compact, because of the case thickness and the bracelet clasp is awesome (as is the glidelock you have) just a slight difference in the function.

The Sub is such a fantastic watch, congrats on a really great purchase. I would keep it and not bother about the DSSD. Then again, if you are really itching to find out how it is like, go put one on your wrist and see if it is right for you. No point having sleepless nights thinking about what might have been. Life is too short, live and enjoy it.

Well, first of all, this is not worth being torn apart. You have a great watch, a Rolex icon.

Keep the sub, wear it for awhile, and if you still feel like you're missing something, either get the DSSD or flip for it.
