Change my Blue 16613 to a 116610LV?! Help needed

I own a blue tt sub -02 and it is a wonderful watch. But lately I have been lusting for the bigger version of the sub and I find the 116610LV to be a really cool watch that really stands out.

Here is how i compare:

16613:
+ I love the blue dial
+ I have allways liked that it is two toned with yellow gold
+ It stands out and looks very classy

- It is compared to the C Sub an old watch
- It is smaller than the C Sub


16610LV
+ Love that the watch is Green
+ Bigger than My current watch
+ Really cool watch

- Only come as SS
- I could get bored because Green isnt a color that I would normally choose for a watch.

What would you guys do? Change or keep? And please tell me why.

I should also tell you that I have a friend who wants to change his 116610LV with my 16613 without any money in between.

I would add, not flip. There are some really good deals right here in the FS section if you're looking for a nice LV.

As for the size difference, I don't believe it is as appreciable as you're thinking. Both models are 40mm, the subc just has the super case design, which is just really wider lugs.

Have to agree and basically exactly the same movement.

"Add, not flip" is a noble idea, but not everyone is looking to drop ~$8,000 on a watch when they could just trade their old one. I'd say to make the trade, and then buy a 16613 back if you really miss it.

As for no appreciable difference - have you seen the two of them side-by-side? I can't imagine anyone saying that once you've seen the two of them next to each other.

maybe you should save up for the 116613?
that way you can keep the blue dial and the TT, but have the larger case you so desire.
another thing about these newer subs is that they come with the new clasp, which i find to be a nice upgrade from the older ones.

I wouldn't do it. Keep the two tone with the blue face. Like you said "I could get bored because Green isn't a color that I would normally choose for a watch."

I would do a trade however for the 116613 TT blue face. You would have all the upgrades done on the ceramic. This trade would require some cash on your part, but well worth it!

The price of a ceramic blue TT sub and the LV C are not that far off and you said you like the TT of your watch save a little more and get the ceramic TT

No way, that Bluesy is a keeper, and looks like you got lug holes to boot.

straight trade? i suppose it depends on the condition of the LVc and the service history of your watch.

that being said, why not change? if you're so not in love with your bluesy that you would consider a change, then, you might as well change.

personally, i would take the LVc over the Bluesy? why? because i'm not a huge fan of YG on a Submariner. and i the LVc.

I had the same sub as you are thinking of swopping out. My advice: KEEP IT. Use your old favorite for weekend wear and special days. You won't be sorry. If you sell her, you will likely regret it as I regret having sold mine.

Look for a deal on what else you may like ti add. As stated above, you can find some good deal here with Trusted Sellers. Also...have you considered going totally in a different direction and getting a GMT. This opens upo the colors and combos quite a bit and broadens your stable. BLNR comes to mind.

So why not make the straight trade of a 16613 for the 116610LV, and then a parrallel transition into a 116613 for little-to-no cost if he misses his two-tone? Done and done.

A tough decision. For as long as I can remember, the bluesy has been one of my personal favorites. However, the new improvements are hard to argue with. I find myself wearing my 16610 far less than my BLNR or my DSSD. Will it be your daily wearer or weekend piece?

I am not a big fan of TT, but sub blue is beautiful. However if can only have one, it will be lvc.

I agree, save up for the best of both worlds for you. I love the old Bluesy but couldn't go back after all the new upgrades to that bracelet, clasp and bezel.

I did the exact opposite. I bought the LVC and owned it for 3 months, I ended up flipping it for the 16613. You can't beat that blue dial, the gold, and the tapered lugs. The lugs on the new subs just look boxy to me. Plus, I think the colors match better with the aluminum bezel.

I definitely think the 16613 and the 116613 blue dials are one of the most iconic Rolex models in my eyes. When you see one on a wrist, you can instantly tell it's a Rolex. LN Subs are copied so often, I've had people wearing homages ask if we're wearing the same watch.

I would not do it. The TT is a great pieces. For me, the LV is a rotation watch, not a daily wearer.

You're getting the better end of the deal. Neither watch is hard to come by and if you want to switch back down the road, you've got more watch to work with. I say go for it.
