Market for Explorere II help

Hello,

I am in the market for the Explorer II 216570 and have some questions.

I want to buy it from an authorized dealer and was wondering whats the best discount they can offer? I was offer 5% off MSRP ($8100) and tax free from one AD.
I'm from the PA/DE/NJ area

Did the 2014 model come out yet? if so what serial number does it starts with?

Will there be a price increase for 2014? if so when?

Thanks!

Random serial numbers and no one knows if/when Rolex will raise their prices.

Why should you get a discount?

Have you checked the sale section here?

The issue is that there is never a guarantee of any kind of discount whatsoever. If anyone walks into an AD expecting a discount from the start then they are setting themselves up for a disappointment. From my experience no AD offers any kind of discount even after having bought 3 watches in a row from a single dealer...perhaps the discount comes from people buying more than that in a row, but I have yet to see it.

I received a 18% discount from an AD, on my 16610(2007), I had never been in that AD before.

I also received a 20% discount from another AD, over the phone on my sea-dweller. It can't hurt to ask, the wort they can say is no.

Doesn't hurt to ask. Many AD's do offer discounts...

Careful with the "tax savings" comments. Not exactly above board

You can pick one here on TRF for a trusted seller. I would think for around 6500 or so.

Minimum 10% and no less from AD
Sellers here give up to 15+%
I like to buy face to face from AD

When I went into my AD & asked about a discount the lady behind the counter looked at me like I'd lost my mind! You can always asked for a discount, but don't hold your breath.
Just make sure that you keep everything above-board, my brother-in-law bought my 216570 for me in Saudi Arabia (a gift from my wife) & tried to bring it into Canada on his wrist to avoid taxes, etc.; he ended up spending very much more on taxes, duties, & penalties.
Maybe you can get a good price from someone on this board. My understanding is that they are very good.

I just want to get a good understanding on whats the best discount out there for this model. As it various from model to model. A few years ago I got my first DJ at a huge discount at around 25% off msrp.
