My regulation experience
Good afternoon all - I recently posted a question on whether I should get my 16610 sub date regulated. It is an M serial, and purchased mint from authorized dealer (HL GROSS in Long Island). The watch was running 9 second per day fast for 7 days. I got great advice here, some said regulate, others said leave it alone. In any event...I took it in this afternoon, and they have a "certified rolex repair" employee on staff. I was able to view all of the equipment and watch him work on the watch, and perform the pressure and timing tests right before me, as the service area is encased in glass. After 3 mins the technician came out and said his timer (not sure of the name of device), read it as 9 seconds fast as well. I watched him make some adjustments, etc. He said the movement looked quite clean and that he regulated it to "+2" per day. Not sure how he knows that, but if that's the case, I'll be happy. It's only been 2 hours so I need to watch it, but so far, dead on accurate with time.gov. One thing he did say was that he "de-magnetized" it just in case and also found that the "vibration pattern" (or something to that effect) was just a little off and he fixed that too. I have no clue what that means at all, if anyone can shed light on that. Anyway, it only took about 25 mins for the whole process. I will provide an update, but it seemed like a first class place and i'm going to watch it closely to see if it worked.

definitely happy...but the skeptical side of me is praying that it holds up! Like my crazy crazy mind is saying "i hope he tightened everything correctly" (i fear i'm going to have a nightmare that screws fall out and the hands fall off)

A certified Rolex watchmaker made the adjustment, and water pressured tested it after. They do this a lot. RELAX!!

My Tudor Sub is running at 15 seconds fast per day....I've talked with a local Rolex Tech in my area....It's headed that way real soon.
Glad yours is okay.

I see that you are in NY. Did you use a NY repair person? If so, please PM me the name of the place and the person you used. I'm looking for someone who could do a "simple" regulation.

Glad you regulation was sorted just like any movement made today its only as good as what its been regulated too.But even if regulated on the timing machine it don't always mean it will perform exactly 100% the same on wrist there could be tiny almost daily variations.

Good for you. Accuracy is just one more thing to be proud of. I had my EXPII regulated and it went from +7s/day to (currently) +0.3s/day. As Padi said, there may be minor daily fluctuations depending upon your wearing pattern. I suggest you check your watch once a week. Eventually you will build assurance that all is well and may stop checking it as often. We are all different in our expectations so do what makes you happy.
