Paypal nightmare

Some asswipe took 200.00 from my checking account using paypal so I had cancel the Wells Fargo bank card and cancel the checking account.....Closed the paypal account but the real pain is all the accounts I paid online I have to re-due now. Paypal also said they tried to take another 440.00 but the bank card was closed. I got the 200.00 put pack in the account but having to change email and all other accounts..... what a pain Ive spend most of the day dealing with it.

Sorry to read about your misfortune Greg, at least he didn't have the time to take more.

Going through online payments all over again must be a pain indeed, good luck.

If you happen to use Yahoo, and share a password with it plus your PayPal, there is a chance you could have problems since Yahoo lost many online credentials lately...

Paypal offers two-factor authentication via SMS to phone.

I dont like paypal. It is not very secure to receive payment with. Its OK to make payments as long as you use a credit card and not a bank account.

I prefer not to use them because they are anti-gun.

I wonder what the numbers are of people who avoid Paypal vs. other merchant account providers. I have Paypal on one of my e-stores, but I am still a little nervous.

There has to be an easier way. Paypal is so unsafe. Banks should be handling this service, not some suedo-bank like PP

Greg..really a big pain in the a$$. :-(

Im not familiar with Pay Pal. If so unsafe, why has it been accepted and used by so many merchants? I did just sign up recently and made my 1st purchase a week ago. LOL Maybe Im a bit late getting into it & I hope I don't have issues. Rolio, thats a good question, Im curious too if people avoid Pay Pal and if they don't purchase from a vendor if that is the only method of payment.

I am curious to hear how this happened as I use paypal pretty often without any issues, some transactions up to $15K,I usually use it only when vendors I deal with don't accept AMEX.

I had not used it in over three years thinking (asking) them to close the PP account since one of Delia's daughter had the same thing happen to her for the tune of 1400.00 took from her checking account. Never Link to a checking account only a Visa card that has no access to your bank accounts.
Its was only 200 bucks .....its almost worth that not to have to go through 10 + accounts and retype all that info again....And Wells Fargo put the money back in 3 days.....Just a pain in the ass.
