Losing my MIND....

I put off making the decision one more day. I had narrowed my search down to a DJII and GMT. I then decided on the GMT. I had my AD to order a GMT because they had no stock. When I show up to get it, I couldn't commit because I tried on a Submariner again, it threw me off making me think I was making a wrong decision and that I should be getting the Sub. I'm going tomorrow and pulling the trigger. Whatever feels right is what I'm buying. My wife is going with me to help. I wear business dress 5 days per week. That's what made me think the GMT would be better because it's a touch dressier.

I know this topic is wore out on this forum, but any advice is appreciated. Anyone wear a Sub or GMT with a suit?

Put on all 3 and pull the trigger. One will sing to you more. You can always pick up another later.

I wear my Sub with a suit all the time. Maybe this will help...I grew up loving the ocean. Then I learned to scuba dive which I greatly enjoyed and I've owned a boat. Dive watches have always been a major interest to me so I bought a Sub C and love it every day. Now my brother is a lawyer who travels all the time. I mean all of the time. He of course went with GMT and loves it. Does either theme sing to you like this? If not just go with which one seems to fit your fancy best and you'll be happy. Remember that there are no bad decisions. They're all Rolexes and great watches. Good luck

Business dress 5 day a week = DJll. Would you actually use the GMT function for business? If not = DJll.

Tough decision as you've narrowed your choice down to 3 fantastic watches...the reality is you're in a no lose situation and the beauty of it all is that you can still get the other 2 over time, as they all are current models.

Go with your gut and don't stress it...your wife will help you with your decision. Make sure you post a wrist shot of the watch you choose!

I have all 3 models you are considering and I wear suits 5 days a week. So, listen up.... Sub needs to be out if your goal is a dressier watch. Sorry! It is a great all around but ever 26 year old lawyer has one. So GMT or DJII- that's a little trickier, what dial are you considering for the DJII? I'd guess that black Romans or the white sticks since they are both so versatile. Also which GMT, the all black or BLNR?

I have all of the above (black sub, gmt iic, and dj ii blue roman fluted) and they all go well with a suit.

You can't go wrong at all but the gmt and dj ii are my preferred suit watches. I think the PCL's really help.

Thank you. I was choosing between the grey dial with Romans on DJII and black ss GMT.

My Sub in a suit

IMHO my Sub looks amazing with a suit. It also looks great with a t shirt.

Here are some additional comparison pics...

The bracelet on the Submariner is the best, however, the complication on the GMT is very useful...

Generally speaking, you want to be careful about following fashion advice from a fellow who wears spider cufflinks.

No doubt it's a tough choice. You'll have to test drive at the AD and go with the one that grabs you the most.

Unless you frequently need to know the time in other time zones, the GMT function is not as useful as the timer bezel on the Sub, IMO.

There's always a voice of reason. Watches should be functional and although collections are wonderful it seems strange to buy a watch which is highly specialized with a totally unneeded function. But what do I know?

I disagree. The GMT bezel can easily be used to time most things to within 1.25 minutes. But the diving bezel has no ability to track time zones. So the GMT bezel gives you both and the Sub does not.
