Wife's Watch: Which One?

Hello good people of TRF,
I would appreciate your input with an upcoming decision. Please bear with me.
I plan to get my wife a new Rolex, we are torn out between 3 dials. She's set that she wants TT fluted bezel 31DJ on jubillee bracelet.

Here is a pic of them on her wrist.

she's leaning toward a diamond dial, but thinks a Roman dial looks awesome. The jubilee dial is nice, but she is worried it might get dated or she might get bored with it. I know it seems that the only option left is the silver diamond set, but she's having doubts and wants to hear opinions of "experts.

I promised I would ask YOU guys. What do you think?

Changing dials at a later date is not difficult and the prices for womens dials (at lears premowned ones) are not that bad. Given that you have got the base watch agreed go with what her heart wants now for the dial.

Sam, one would think the white Romans is a classic and therefore is the safe choice. However, there's nothing like a little bit of diamonds on a watch to make it more special for any woman. My wife has diamonds on four of her five watches. I highly suggest you go with the white diamond dial.

I would go with 1 or 3. If she prefers the diamonds go with her call, blokes will always pick the Roman numerals.

I was kind of thinking the same. I had to look at where you are from. We don't particularly use the word "blokes" here so after (if any). I like actually like it.

I am a lady with a gold and ss dj (with an oyster bracelet though).

I have the white Roman dial and absolutely love it.

In fact, I just got a new watch last week and got the black Roman dial this time.

I agree with the others who say you can never go wrong with the Roman dials - they are classic.

Sam, the trend for the last few years is women wearing bigger watches. I got my wife a yachtmaster 36 a few years ago but now I wish I got her the 40mm. She is 5'6" and around 130lbs so pretty average size. If she is not petite perhaps you may consider #3 but not the "womens" version. Just a thought.

Definitely appreciate the female prospective. Thanks!

Thanks, Steppy. Only thing is that she didn't like the 36mm. She even did not like the OP at 34. She's going with the classical look, although she's in her 20s still.
Man, I wish she liked the DJ as it will make it much easier for me to get a better deal.

A good diamond is wasted on a watch dial; Romans all the way.

I like the the first one but can't go wrong with the third one, don't care for the writing on the second one. Good luck and congrats to your wife in advance.

My wife has the 31mm diamond dial and loves it. Romans are nice but asking a bunch of guys who typically don't like diamonds on a watch will get you a pretty biased answer. I remember a woman's forum I saw and 80% of their Rolex watches had diamonds. Just a thought.

Hi Sam,

Here is a couple shots of my wife's 36mm SS DJ with jubilee diamond dial. i actually like the writing on the dial you don't really notice it much unless looking close up. I think it gives it a little extra pop. She gets many more compliments on this than i do on any of mine :-)

Have fun deciding
Matt

Agreed! My wife has diamond markers on white face (not a fan of the jubilee dial at all). Diamonds are a woman's best friend after all.

1 or 3. The Romans are classy, but it should the one she likes best. Happy wife equals happy life.

This is my wife's beautiful beast. 31mm DJ Two Tone SS/Rose. You said your wife wants a diamond dial but also loves the roman numerals. To me this is the best of both worlds with the Diamond VI dial. (Sorry for the crappy first pic)

If I were choosing for my wife, number 1 would be my first choice and number 3 would be my second choice. My wife currently owns a DJ with a diamond MOP dial, a choice she made for herself.

I like this, the romans and chocolate DD2 is starting to appeal to me a lot too.
