Just about to buy a DJ II 3 months old

Hi Be gentle with me as this is my first post.
I have been offered a DJ II that was purchased in Nov 13
from a reputable Jewellers in UK. I am a novice and don't want to
buy a fake or dodgy one. I have all the pics of watch and valuation receipt from the original jeweller and it all appears to check out.
Reason for sale is an impending Divorce ? The watch paperwork is in the name of the guy offering it for sale and we have agreed a price subject to all being in order.
I have the serial number so is there some way I can check it is a 2013 watch?
Can I have any other advice on closing this deal .
Many Thanks

Posting pics helps us tell you if it is a fake or not. If it is a reputable jewelers though as you said, you should have less to fear. If you don't trust the store though, then don't buy it.

Always buy the seller.

Have him meet you at a trusted watchmaker and both of you observe the watchmaker take it apart and inspect it. They do this in front of you to insure no switching of stuff in the back room.

Or ask him for a one week money back guarantee while u have it authenticated

As for a 2013 model to me it makes no difference if it is a few years old as long as the model has not changed.

If is showroom condition it's show room condition.

Good luck. It sounds legit ... reputable jewelers do not want to risk being flamed in this day of Internet communications.

PS .. The divorce bit rings true. Expensive jewelry purchased during a marriage is community property and wanker lawyers use it as a bargaining tool.
I sold my little red sports car when I got divorced but I kept my sub

No telling by the serial number exactly what year the watch is, but if the purchase date on the papers that match the serial number on the watch states 2013 then that's what it is.
The serial will indicate approx when the case was produced and stamped, but a case stamped in say 2011 and sold in 2014 with dated paperwork as 2014 would be treated as a 2014

The watch might be real but still could be stolen, so you will need to take out insurance for this. Post pics and we can at least tell you if it's real. And and if the serials match. And which Jeweller?
