Icon2 Watch Insurance Pricing ~ Post Quotes for Comparison Here

I just spoke to my Insurance Broker at Mercury Insurance in Southern California regarding a rider for my Wife's new Rolex and he quoted $10.70 per thousand to insure individual watches up to $15K per watch.

$10.70 / thousand $'s .... Seem reasonable to me.

That is a great price, BUT I would look into what it does or does not cover. Also does it cover any damage?

Quotes are irrelevant.

Deductible, other coverage, extent of coverage, location, credit score, discounts, other insurance . . .

Everyone's quote will be different, you can only shop around for yourself.

I pay $1.25 per hundred, no deductible, covers breakage, loss, stolen, etc....

My YM 116622 Blue is insured with Amica Insurance as a Scheduled Item (no deductible) for $60 per year which is about $5.71/$1,000.

Jewelers Mutual with a $100 detectable:

Cost---MSRP
$149--$10,650 = $13.99 per thousand
$168--$12,050 = $13.94 per thousand
$297--$16,800 = $17.68 per thousand

$16.60 per thousand for a GMT-II at State Farm. Convers loss or damage and no deductible. Insurer has right to repair or replace at their cost. Cash settlement at replacement cost which can be less than the insured amount. I believe this last item addresses jewelry (especially diamonds) as dealers routinely give appraisals that are much higher than the actual cost.

you don't want to make a claim on a 5K-12K watch attached to your home owners by a scheduled addition, you'll get your home owners policy cancelled or sky rocketing premiums. JM for me!

What are people using as an appraisal for Jewellers Mutual? I bought my watch from DavidSW but didn't get a receipt.

Any watchmaker/Jeweler can do an appraisal, so can an AD if they are are inclined to. Some will do it gratis and others will charge for it. Up to you how you proceed.
