Life size images for your favorite Rolex on the iPhone

New to this forum. Did a quick search and didn't see this posted before.

If you go to rolex.com on your iPhone, the full frontal images of each watch appear life-sized. That is, the bezel diameter on the iPhone image is exact to the millimeter to spec. For example, the Sub measures 40mm, the DD II is 41mm and the Ex II is 42mm. I don't think this is a coincidence, nice touch. Now you can slap your iPhone against your wrist and see how each model looks.

The only exceptions I found were the DJ's and DD's measured 38mm when they are 36mm in real life. Guess Rolex fudged a little on these older models. Both II's were spot on at 41mm.

I have my favorite models bookmarked on Safari, so I can pull one up and get a fix anytime I need to. In case you didn't notice, if you click under "Make it yours," you can customize each model with the available options and it is saved that way when bookmarked.

Cool!

However, I am still disappointed by the fact that it is not easy to navigate every dial/bezel/bracelet combination on line.
The "Make it yours" function only shows a limited number of combinations. Especially for datejusts that is pretty limiting.

Totally agree. You would think a huge company like Rolex would make their website more user friendly and more inclusive of dial options.

@themast

I agree, but I also read somewhere that Rolex had more than 20,000 SKU's.

That is a fair point. But I still think that the "make it your own" function is not well thought. For instance if you select a bracelet, and then you select a dial, there are good chances that the bracelet will change (even if that combination exist).
I think Rolex could do better (for instance car manufacturers also have many combinations and usually they show all of them).

That shouldn't be. I thought it meant the combination was not available. They should fix that.

Also, would be nice if the list price of these combinations could be shown, maybe in exchange for registering with your email.

That was neat. Now I need a gold DJ with brown dial since it looks so nice on me.
