GMT 2 Day/night deep blue?
Although the GMT Black/Blue has been out for a year now I have yet to see one other then in pics.
I have always been under the impression that the blue part of the ceramic bezel has no real depth to it. My black ceramic sub bezel is almost like black chrome in some light and has so much life to it. The Hulk I have seen on my wrist and I felt it was rather drab. Is my impression correct on the GMT or does it have some kind of a reflective quality to it? I as because I saw a picture of one today that looked considerably more impressive ( in my opinion ) then any other pic I've seen. I no longer have an AD locally so it's pretty hard to just go and have a look Thanks in advance

Here is the pic
The bezel looks great to me and based on this pic my opinion of the watch has changed completely

From the pictures I have seen, it certainly shines, if that is your concern!

For me the ceramic is very reflective and brilliant in most light. It does catch your eye when the light hits it, which is hard to photograph. It is not anything like an aluminum bezel insert which is matte in finish.

I nave Sub C and BLNR. The deep glass like quality in the Sub C bezel is repeated in the BLNR bezel. The blue is amazing .... Changes depth and color depending on the light conditions.

Photos are tough expressing the true appeal of this watch. If you can get one in real sunlight it sells itself. Whenever there is sunlight available I just stare and stare and the blue really pops. The other great thing is the black dial is for lack of a better term "super black". Very high quality piece.

My BLNR definitely has a reflective quality to the C bezel. It simply stands out. At times it looks almost black and in the bright sun light it is a brighter blue. It lives and changes a bit with each new lighting situation. It appears more "3 dimensional" than the aluminum version, if that makes sense.
It quickly became my favorite watch. I even sold off another once I fell in love with this one. Gets all the wrist time I have. I hope this helps. |

My personal opinion is that first of all Black and Blue have history of just 1 year. So we will get to know the original success of this watch unless few years are passed.Submariner and GMT black bezels have 60 years of history. They have established their base.No sure if this is same like an iPhone or samsung galaxy that made lot of hype when released in market.

Yeah, I have to say that after a year of not really noticing or really even caring about the BLNR, I have to say I'm impressed by what I've seen and read in this thread
Thanks everyone I may go shopping!

Pictures DO NOT do this watch justice. I'm sure the BLRO will be the same way.
Simply put, the blue "seems to" change appearance with different ambient lighting. It is subdued indoors, and totally pops in sunlight. The platinum inlayed numbers add to the effect. |
