Interlocking roof, any experience?

Does any one have any experience with an interlocking roof?
My wife and I need to redo the roof and have stumbled over these. At 2-3 times the cost I'd like to hear some unbiased feedback.
Thanks

Looks nice MJ, never heard of them though. Are there any in the Philly area that they've done that you could go look at?

I don't know about this metal product. I know there are several companies that make similar products from recycled tires. I recall reading in the last year or so that an historic building in Boston was allowed to replace their crumbling slate roof with the rubber manufactured product because the installation was more weatherproof than traditional slate and the product was indistinguishable once applied. Sorry, I can't find that link right now, but it was in the last ~5 years.

No, in fact they're willing to give us a significant discount so they can advertise our house (with new roof) to our general neighborhood, if we go that route. Still comes to double to cost of the conventional roofing. The guy that gave us the quote yesterday came down from upstate NY

Just my 2¢

Upon reading the "50 year" warranty, you are only protected for 30 years on the coating - and labor is not included. There are 30 year warranties on standard roofing so I don't get their value proposition.

If you did have a problem 10 years down the road, first they must still be in business. If this doesn't take hold in the marketplace, finding an installer willing to work on repairs could be difficult.

On a roof, I would not want to be a company guinea pig FWIW. The insurance problems that could arise with water/hail/wind damage seems to pull the plug for me.

I'd want to see a couple that they've actually done and speak to the homeowners. A good size roof as you know can be quite an investment.
