Was just gonna post this.

Should be in the Vintage Rolex section though and should 100% be a sticky.

Cool video on Paul Newman Daytonas

I'm confused. About at the 4 minute mark they are showing 2 watches that say Rolex Oyster Cosmograph. Yet in another well known it forum it has been asserted that these dials are now known to be fake

Hope this post doesn't get me in trouble. Just trying to learn

I am by no means an expert, but I have seen both dials on authentic Daytonas. Oyster dials have the sealed pushers.

im not sure where you got that idea ....some oyster are real ....the main one talked about as fake is the black dial of a specific type .....rolex oyster cosmpograph (in that order) known as the 'mayer dial ' (and also almost every red one you've ever seen) ....a derogatory term , though it took poor john about 4 years to realise that.

Good lord, there's got to be about a half-mil.'s worth of watches on that counter! Maybe more. I love how Andrew is casually wearing his own Daytona and it's not even mentioned. Amazing stuff!

Stumbled upon that sight last week and have watched every video (I think), some several times, the one you posted included. I always used to notice John Mayers watches too and he is a contributing writer for the sight. Here's cool video of him sharing his collection:
