Where are you guys buying these cool leather straps?

I could spend an hour searching the 'net or I can just ask here and have an answer in minutes with many more options.

I would like to put one of these on my sub. Just wondering where you guys are buying these straps with the thread wrapped through the leather like these?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

There are some good places. I honestly go to eBay, but I know hirsch has a good collection. You may want to search harween leather straps, too.

Handmade high quality does cost...

You can try http://gunnystraps.blogspot.com - scroll all the way down to see these two options. A tad over $100...

I like Bulang & Sons in the Netherlands. Not cheap, but worth it.
I have a great Hodinkee one too.

These are brands I know/wear and am comfortable recommending:
-JBW watches (Good quality for under $25. Straps have quick release pegs. Free shipping)
-Michelle Watches (Quick release pegs, extra long lengths available, Sporty designs for $100)
-Hirsch Straps (Lots of color/size/material options for $50-$200)
-Stone Creek Straps (Custom made straps in exotic leathers for $100-$300. If you can dream it, Jemma can make it).

Be forewarned, collecting straps can become as addicting as collecting watches.

You can get the T-stitch or minimal stitch strap made for a little more than a mass produced Hirsch.

Just passing on some knowledge as I wasted hundreds on over-priced crappy straps in the $40-$60 range that were probably worth $20.

These are Horween Shell Cordovan leather, custom-made for you around $90. The leather will last for years.

Rover Haven straps, get in touch with Myron. Spend a little more and get exactly what you want.

I'm a beginner in collecting leather straps. I've gone with Amy at globalwatchband.com - they have a nice selection of Hirsch ingest others, and a palatable price point. Try it.

I don't mind paying extra as long as it's worth the difference. I've had good and bad straps, but the ones that feel, fit, and look the best are worth an extra $50 or so. I just think of the many tho$ands on my wrist that it's supporting.

Some of the best strap makers specialize in 24mm+, but, for a Submariner, if you want real bespoke quality, look at John at Dangerous9.

It's worth the price difference for a fine piece of leather for your expensive watch, IMHO.

Where are you guys buying these cool leather straps?

I just ordered a strap from Gunny Strap. Peter will make custom straps. I sent him a picture of a strap that I saw on the internet and he's making it.

Here's the picture from the internet:

Another thumbs up for Gunny, amazing quality and somenf the softest straps you'll ever find.

Also Donerix makes some exceptional and original straps which have a raw beauty to them.

Jankoxxx here on TRF has made a couple custom shell cordovan straps for me and I love them. I've also bought a strap made out of a baseball mitt from a Russian gentleman named Alex. There are lots of small, independent strap artisans out there and I enjoy supporting them.

I don't get it; most of these hand made straps look crude to me. Nice if you're after the Mad Max look but for me that's as far as it goes.

All a matter of preference. Sports and tool watches, though, look great with that style. Entirely appropriate.

I bought my Horween Shell Cordovan Bund at Corvis watch.com. Price was quite reasonable.
