Traveling outside of US with multiple Rolex and coming back to US

As I got my 2nd Rolex recently, what's the situation with traveling with 2 Rolex outside of US and then coming back. The trip can be more than a month, thats why I want to take both these watches as both can be used at different occasions. Do you think this will be an issue while re-entering US? Carrying purchase papers from AD or warranty card would help it? Or even with those, there will be an issue to enter US with 2 Rolex? Can someone let me know. Thanks.

Just get a CBP form 4457 signed and stamped at the airport prior to you leaving the US and you'll be good to go. You needn't bring purchase papers with you, just the form filled out including model, s/n, and a general description. You can include both watches on one form. Enjoy your trip!!!

Declare at the departure airport. There is no way I would want to travel with two expensive watches.

Why would there be a issue if you have the documentation for any product you bought while in your own country.Either declare when you leave your country or just carry the purchase receipts with you, but honestly do you really need more than one watch on any trip.

It is illegal to import a Rolex into the USA with the exception of one hand-carried through customs. As a German, just visiting, you wouldn't have the same issues as an American returning from vacation.

OP: just save yourself the hassle and bring one watch. You shouldn't have to fill out paperwork to wear a watch. It's silly.

Declare at departure. I have done it before (GMT II and Explorer 1) without a declaration (before I knew) and no issues.

I don't live in America. I live in Japan. I am an American citizen living and working in Japan for 6 years. Over that time I have amassed a collection. Now maybe someday I will want to go home. How do I do that whilst keeping my collection intact? Anybody?

I would start by calling the American Embassy in Japan.

That won't be a problem at all. You can bring all your private stuff (household goods, furniture, etc) in to the US without paying any taxes or whatever.
Conditions are you have to have lived for over 6 months (not sure, could be a year) as an expat with a legal primary address in the country you reside.
I moved from Florida to Belgium in 2010 and it was easy. Had a 40ft container with everything, including a car and watches.

Traveling outside of US with multiple Rolex and coming back to US

I never had any problem. I always travel with a 116660 on one wrist and a GMT MII on the other. I live in Spain, but travel once every 2 months to Washington and Boston.
I have never declared anything anywhere. Nor anyone have ever asked me anything about them. And believe me, I travel a lot.
They're just watches, nobody ever notices them.

...and I would never expect any of the I.C.E small brains telling a Rolex from a used condom.

I think that going from America out is different from going (insert country here) and going into America.

Which two are these? The Exp and Sub? If so, both are similar enough that 1 would do the trick, IMO.

If you owned an Explorer I, you'd have one watch for any occasion. Make it your third Rolex!

DVR, where did you read this? If it is true this would help me out quite a bit as I am an US citizen who has worked and lived in HK for last 8 years. My collection has grown from 1 watch to over 10 watches (5 rolexes) and have been wondering how i would be able to bring them back if I were to move back to the states.

Well your not really importing and if you have your receipts for the watches you have bought anywhere in the world then just cannot see any problem. But it would we prudent to check with USA customs, the importing rule is mainly watches for retail sale by a third party.

Hope it all works out! Might be a challenge to use a certain body cavity to smuggle a DSSD into the US...

US customs regulations are what they are, but it sounds silly to be forced to plan on how to bring home ones duly acquired watches into ones home country.

Yea, thanks Peter. I am going to call US Customs and Rolex USA before I even attempt it.

Yea but Rolex USA is like a Rolex entity all unto itself. They follow their own set of rules.

+1

Check the regulations and you should be fine. Expat coming back home for good has plenty of relaxations.

Now if you have to do multiple international moves/relocations over a number of years, then with a collection in hand things can get more complicated...

Japan is so nice, was so hard to resist acquiring watches or cameras/lenses every time I visited; fully understand that in 6 years there you built up a nice collection. Ditto for Hkexpat183, Asia is alluring...
