Holgram Question

I got my first Rolex about 18 years ago. ( Air King ).
I remember the hologram eventually getting all ratty & a pain to remove.
I just bought a SS Submariner Date. Hologram is still attached.
My question is , do i remove it now, or wait until it starts falling apart on its own??
Any suggestions on easy removal?
Thanks

sticker

I just picked up the sea dweller...I took mine off after a week. from what I understand it adds no value. after peeling off I just used some windex on a paper towel to rub it off...no problems.

If you do not plan on selling it any time in the near future, it is not important.

I just took mine off yesterday. I take it off with a razorblade and stick it to the inside of the box.

Holy cow, don't remove it, it will make you lose the water tightness....

It is all personal, some leave it on and some, like me file it in the trash can. If you are thinking resell, it could help, but not that much.

A big welcome to TRF!!

Same here, I just left the protective plastic on the bottom of mine.

I'm not neurotic nor do I plan on selling my Sub anytime soon, heck ever, so I think i'll end up taking it off and putting it in the OE box.

To be fair, my first one I did the same thing.

Though it really is just a sticker.

First, welcome to TRF.

As for the hologram, it's all a matter of personal taste. The only Rolex I have bought NIB is my GMT-II. I've had mine for almost two years (or is it three, I've lost track), and I've left the hologram on. By this time, it's been worn down to a slick green sticker. At first I left it on because I didn't want to change the watch in any way from the moment I took it out of the box. By this point, I forget it's on there. I never look at the back anyway.

Same thing with my Breitling. I never took the plastic sticker off the back. It's still on there, mainly because I keep forgetting it's there.

If you want to remove it, you should use a very sharp thin knife or razor blade. But you must be careful to avoid scratching the case back.

It's gone now. Fingernail & some GOOF OFF.
Now I remember what I did the first time. The first one started to bother me while I was on holidays, I pulled it off only to reveal that glue, and had a sticky thing on my arm till I could get if off.
Thanks All

I have a sticker question;

Is this some sort of pre-hologram sticker? I think this watch is supposed to be form the mid 1990's.

I peel mine off and stick em to the back of the Warranty Booklet.

I'm waiting for my hologram sticker to come off the watch and become a part of my wrist. Like those old stick-on transfer tattoos for kids.

Yes. Older model stickers had no hologram.

Yeah, the hologram sticker was an attempt to stop counterfitters. Didn't work.

I'm a bit of a ninny, because I took mine off and stuck it to the papers that came with the watch and saved it Heat it up with your wife's hairdryer then pull it off slowly. The heat from the dryer really makes it a lot easier. Then, a little warm soapy water and an old toothbrush to get the left over gunk off and you're done

Just peel it off. It means nothing and adds no value.
