Another "brush my Daytona" thread..
But more of a request.
I see lotsa folks saying they wished it came brushed or that they love it when it's brushed. BUT I can't find any photos of the new style clasp w/ the crown after this has been done. I'm concerned about losing the "sharpness" of it since you basically have to remove a tiny bit of material to get the polish to go away. If you've got one or can direct me to a photo of one, I would be most appreciative. And since everyone loves pictures...

I wouldn't do it. I took a spare brushed oyster bracelet and put it on my Daytona to satisfy my curiosity...I didn't even leave the house before changing it back. The polished lugs and the polished bezel just throw the brushed center link look all off.

Thanks. Was wondering about that. Saw a totally brushed Milgauss that looked good. But not sure about the bezel.
Perhaps photos will help me decide. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Man the PCLs are so cool. But understand everyone has their own tastes!

I love the Daytona dial but I work in a conservative profession so calling attention to a watch isn't something I love doing. And I almost always roll up my sleeves.
My other watches (JLC, AP and even Omega) aren't quite so attention grabbing as this particular model. But I digress. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have to admit I don't love this look. Like the PCLs better, but to each his own.

I like the pcls but if I were to brush the bracelet I would do the lugs as well.

I agree. The lugs make it look a bit odd. Now we are really taking "mod." Not sure I have the courage for that.

I don't get why everyone is so against PCLs. I just don't think they are that big a deal but to each their own I guess.

Aren't PCLs back in fashion in 2014?

The Yachtmaster and Daytona are not tool watches to me, so I believe they should be left with PCLs. |

Has anyone ever seen a Daytona with all the steel brushed (including the case and the bezel)?
I've not. I wasn't a fan of PCL's until I got the GMT, now I really like them. Given the choice, I slightly prefer brushed, but it's a really small preference.

If you scroll up in this very thread you can see one that's totally brushed with a custom bezel, I don't think brushing the stock bezel would be possible without defacing the tach.

These replies have been very helpful.
Besides a "mental hurdle." I also find the polish to smudge easily. But I'll likely get over that. I don't have a problem wearing watches everyday for everything so I typically find brushed to be a little easier to maintain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, I guess my cover is blown. You can see why I was concerned about PCLs.

Quite simply...NO.
Do not do this. Love her for what she is or sell her off and get something that does flip your switch. |
