Thread title.

I was curious on whether or not wearing the watch 8am-6pm (usually M-F) will wind the watch fully.

I ask because I took it off yesterday at 7pm and it just died about an hour ago.

I do have a desk job if that matters so Im not doing a lot of walking but would you say this is normal and that im just not moving my wrists enough?

No fully wind it 40 turns then you are good and will have a good power reserve

Ah thanks. I went into a shop a couple weeks ago and i guess what he said to me stuck.

He said "no need to wind the watch fully. Give it about 10 winds and your wrist will charge the rest"

Easy enough to check if the power reserve is adequate, just fully wind it 40+ FULL turns of the crown then put the watch away and see how long it runs.

If it runs 40+ hours then you're OK. If I'm wearing the same watch everyday I will wind it every couple of weeks or when I happen to rest it to my reference time. But I've never had a Rolex go dead while on my wrist.

I happen to enjoy interacting with them once in a while.

It will only wind on your wrist if you move enough. A sedentary couch potato will experience a watch stoppage.

I hit a dead watch with about 30 partial turns, set the time, and head out for the day. The timekeeping is fine and I've never had a watch stop.
