The one I miss the most....
A few years ago, I gave my buddy my Explorer 39mm.
We work together and I see him wear it everyday. And it looks fantastic. I knew I would miss it when I gave it to him, but did not figure I would miss it this much. Maybe it is because I see it everyday? I did not give it away because I did not like it, I did so.....because he needed a good watch. Anyway, what watch do you miss the most?

Wow, you must be great friends.
Buy another one if you miss it that much. Sorry, I don't really have one that I miss.

Friend since we are six. More like brothers at this point. And what a novel idea. I probably will.

Such generosity, don't get another, just chalk it up to friendship, paying it forward.

Ask if he is tired of the watch and fancy's an other one.
Since you know him from six and are like brothers there should be no awkwardness among you two. Maybe he would prefer one of your other watches better since he has worn the Explorer for so long. Just a thought...

You "gave" away your DD to your dad, and your Explorer to a friend? You are a very generous person, Seth.
I would say for me it's the LVC. I am worried if I buy it again, I will want to flip it in a couple months once the novelty wears off. |

i had a Panerai 321, and since it was a modern watch, i sold it to help buy a vintage piece. Surprisingly, I missed that watch, a lot and about a year later found another one in the estate case of a local jeweler and bought it. love having it back as a part of my rotation.

Very generous! I think you miss it because it is a special watch, I somehow doubt it would be as special on your own wrist.
Enjoy the magic instead! :-) |

My father, is the most generous man in my life, but just doesn't care about watches. I gave him one of mines, one that I really miss. Now, I think I'm going to buy it again. Having said that, he would be glad if I asked him to switch with me for something else, because he simply doesn't care!

I had a Cartier Santos that was really nice but just a bit too thick so I sold it. I don't regret selling it but only wish it was a slimmer size.

I can't say "miss the most" cause I have sold only one and lost one other :( but I really miss a Breitling Hercules which I sold c. 4 years back. It had a commanding and reassuring presence on the wrist and I felt an attachment whenever I had it on.

I have a theory in life, and I have had it since I was a kid. This was inherent, not learned.
If I have enough for me, I want to give things away. I truly don't see my giving him a watch as generous. It was super natural. I have actually given away quite a few watches in my time. If it is excess and I don't need it, but someone close to me can find joy in it, it is a no brainer. I do appreciate those comments, but the idea of the thread was to see if any fellow flippers miss any of their old watches. Other than the Explorer, I miss my LVC too. I have flipped it so many times, but I always want it back. Having the WG version right now, I just can't justify having the two. But if I ever get rid of the smurf, you can bet the LVC will be back. I love that watch.

I guess giving can be selfish in that respect, but I'll keep doing it until one day Im all out of stuff. Hey, you can't take it with you, so I'll use the coolest stuff and then pass it to those I love. |

Were something to happen to my Explorer I 214270, I would buy another immediately. But haven't faced that problem (knock wood).

Seth,
I seem to follow a similar way of life. To me, it's not about what I have..I work hard and the joy of being able to have enough and enjoy life and pass along what I can is the way it should be. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

In all the " what if" threads I've never seen this presented. Rolex should listen to this. I think it would be an amazing combo!!!
