Vibration
Yesterday, I walking along and I felt an unusual vibration in my in my watch. It felt like the spring was slipped and unwound itself. Is this possible? It is keeping time almost perfectly. Is it time for service or did it overwind and just loosen off? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks Robert 71 Red Sub |

Never had this with a Rolex? ( I dumped a Pam because of this)
Was it fully wound or just put on after a rest period? |

Well you'll need it opened to be sure, but you can check how the power reserve is doing to help isolate a possible major mainspring slippage creating the sensation you feel.

Maybe the rotor? Can you hear/feel a change in the rotor?

I had a blue sub do that; if I recall, it was a rotor that needed replacing. You can post this over in TRF's rolex watch tech. Several watchmakers patrol that board and you'll probably get an answer from them there.

I'd take it to a watch-maker; probably a minor issue and a small fix. Nice 1680!

If its keeping almost perfect time I wouldn't think it would be a major problem but I've been wrong plenty of times before, hope it's not a difficult situation for you! Good luck
