So...the Milgauss has been growing on me, big time. Without just impulse buying, I have been researching, trying it on, etc...today, I visited an AD, and tried it on again, and I am in love with it. I have an explorer I 36mm that I adore, but it doesn't sing to me anymore. Could this be a phase? Any thoughts or anyone own both? Like one better than the other? Input! Please.... Thanks all.

....just what I needed to hear. But I still need to think...just a tad. Flipped a gmt years ago and regretted it instantly. But the GV is gorgeous.

How long has the Milgauss been "growing on you?" A couple of weeks? six months? longer? If it's been been six months, it's probably more than a phase.

Also, you say you "adore" the Expy, but it no longer "sings to you?"

So on the one hand, the Milgauss has been growing on you for a certain period. On the other, you're thinking of flipping a watch about which you sound conflicted.

I'd wait if I were you, especially given what you say about your GMT.

PS - Your avatar show you own an OP. The OP, the Expy and the MG are all variations on a similar theme. Maybe you should think about branching out?

Personally the 36mm Explorer is such a timeless classic I wouldn't let it go. As for the GV, it is a beauty but I would add it to the collection and not flip.

If after you purchase the GV and the honeymoon is over you find yourself not wearing the Explorer I would then consider selling

The Explorer is a classic, the basis for the Sport models. The GV is getting a little tired... how about the new Milgauss in blue if you are looking to trade.

i've had both. the millie is missed more. albeit mine wasn't a GV version.

i have both, they are VERY different watches. the GV is a beast, the 114270 is refined and understated. For me the GV is too much (size and appearance) to wear everyday while the 114270 is a do anything piece. I'd have a hard time choosing between them.

The Milgauss GV is unbelievable in all respects. It's insanely beautiful. Feels incredible on the wrist and the dial details and colour contrasts are pure sex to the eyes. And it's technically marvelous to boot. It's a must have IMHO. So I say YES absolutely.

Thanks for all the unique responses and detail...I appreciate it. I think perhaps get the GV...since I've been wanting it for a while, as one poster above noted...and then if the Explorer gets little wrist time, maybe I will move on from it....ugh this is tough.

Watches are like women in the respect that you always lose half on the trade in and you must be certain.

So keep your watch save buy the mil gauss and cheat on you explorer later :-)
