Anyone owns both Date-Sub & ND Sub?
Hello everyone..
First of all, Happy Friday to everyone! Does anyone here own (or has owned) both Date Sub and ND Sub? I am on the fence now as to which one to get. I'd like to hear from people who actually have both and have owned both before. 1. Which one is more comfortable on the wrist? 2. Are they exactly identical in size? 3. What is the difference between NON SEL and SEL ? 4. Any other comments you might have? Thanks so much |

I have felt both on the wrist. I feel no difference. Weight seems to be the same as well. I have a no date and love it for it has no distractions to the eye when looking at the face. The face is flush with no bubble. I will say that the Sub with date is more "Rolexy" in the fact the bubble is the first thing someone notices about the watch right away.

I really like the new COSC ND Sub. Throw SEL on it and I would be all over it in a heartbeat. I prefer SEL for the solid look and feel. I currently have a Sub Date.

Hey Spereman,
I have both. As with most things "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" LOL! I find the 14060M wears a bit lighter, no doubt due to the non-sel bracelet. The ND is ever so slightly thinner due to the lack of a date function. Accuracy is a wash on my examples. Both are about +1 a day. I suppose one could say the ND gives the "cleaner" apperance, but again opinions will vary. If it had to be one or the other (shudder) LOL! I might go with the 16610 due to the date feature (I personally use it a lot) and the slightly heavier weight due to the SELs and new style bracelet, but either are great pieces. Old style extension on the NDs 14060M, |

I have owned both, although not at the same time. The Sub (14060M) in my opinion, is the classic Rolex. But, on me, it was a little more uncomfortable than the Sub date. Probably due to the non-SEL bracelet. As Mike said, the Sub date feels just a bit more substantial on the wrist, probably due to the SEL.

I have owned 9 SS Sub Dates since 1989 and have always felt the watch very comfortable to wear. For some reason, the SD was a bitter fit for me, though.
I did try on the new Sub 14060M COSC recently at an AD and must say that I was astonished by how comfy it was. I suspect it is due the the non SEL's making the bracelet more flexible at the lugs.

SEL is the Solid End Link bracelet..
If you look at Mikes side-by-side photos you will see that the end links are slightly different on the two types of bracelets.. I have both and I don't really see much difference unless you really try to quantify every little thing.. I think the non-date makes a great every day wear and if it stops you never have to reset the date........just set the time and go...

Thanks, guys.
From the first pic below, it seems Non-Date one is smaller than Date? Is it true? Quote:

I currently own 3 Subs (E series 14060, U series 16610, and a U series 16613). The 14060 & 16610 feel pretty similar in weight. I like the 16610 better than the 14060, though, because of the date function. The 16613 (blue TT) gold links feel give it a 'softer' feel than the SS links. But, the beauty of the blue 16613 is unsurpassed, in my opinion.

I too have new date M series and No date Z cosc. Weight and feel are indistinguishable to me. I simply prefer the date sub even with the cosc no date. However, I prefer my 5513 over both!

I have both a TT Sub and a 14060M. If I had to absolutely pick one watch it would be the no date Sub. I find that it wears a little lighter and is more comfortable. I am in the minority that likes the non-SEL bracelets better. Either watch is great but I think that my choice between the two would be the 14060M.

THe LV is a great choice too.
I've only seen a couple of them at ADs before, they really turn eyes with the green bezel.

Thanks.. guys.
I think I will settle and buy a non-date. I really am not a fan of cyclops. So, there is no difference in dial or bezel size on both, right? |
