There's a First Time for everything I guess...
The thought of purchasing a "Faded" Insert for a watch of mine never really occurred to me...
Although I always loved the look, I always figured I'd just stay with the insert that came with the watch…And I also thought that the prices being asked for these things was insane…!!! Well...Purely by accident, the other day I came across a Faded, Tritium Pearled insert for a 14060 and thought; "Hey, that might go very nicely with my Tritium 14060…?!?!?!" The insert is period correct so I thought, what the heck… What do we think…??? BEFORE AFTER |

I like it - why not, you've got the original as well, so there's nothing sacrificed except some $$££

I like clean and crisp and factory fresh, so I vote for "before", especially with the gloss dial and WG surrounds.
If it was a matt dial and the plots were aged, brittle and showed their age/wear, the faded bezel would be more appropriate. Either way |

That dial may not always be Gloss
I think it looks great with both

Clay, some say a gloss dial and faded insert don't work...
and I would agree with a shiny gloss, bright surrounds, no patina dial. But the patina and "matte gloss" (did I just create a new term ) on your 14060 work for me with the faded insert. I don't like the faded better than the original - I just like it differently It looks more tool now - and may even be growling a bit like a few 666s in the drawer. |

I think my gloss dial and faded insert works, so I think yours does, too

In this particular case Clay, I prefer the newer insert, just a personal choice. Nothing wrong with the faded either.

The matching cream patina of perl and markers really brings it home. I like it.
