Incoming!!

So as I have reported, I temporarily lost my AP mojo, but my friendly dealer knew just the right medicine for me! All credit to him for his hard work getting me back in the fold!

I have to say this model (all versions) did not excite me the first several times I tried it - I loved some of the details but I think I felt it was a little unbalanced with the large protrusions around the pushers.

The more I saw of it, and also the amazing wrist shots being posted on here in the Schumi thread caused me to revisit it again and after some intense negotiation, the trigger was pulled!

I had it under the magnifying light - there are some really nice details and the cermet is a triumph, creating a lovely contrast with the platinum. It is more contrived than the Novelty Platinum which now feels very restrained!

Congrats Roger, that cermet puts it above the Novelty for me too, despite the overlarge pushers.

Also do you have a barrichello in platinum? I can't remember but interested in your thoughts on platinum schumi vs. barrichello vs. novelty?

Thanks everyone! I am in dire need of an RB2 in platinum but not found one yet. As for comparing the various platinum models I really do think the novelty is spectacular but I guess I like my sporty watches to be a bit more "in yer face" and the mirror finish of the bezel edges of the cermet is stunning in the flesh. RB2 flaw is the solid case back otherwise I love the design.

The Allen bolts are way cooler than screws it must be said too!

No minute repeater yet Hamish. House build project just started and watching the pennies a little!

I wish my 'watching the pennies' involved buying platinum AP's!

I must admit that is one heck of heavy medicine buddy!

The blue from AP is always something special!
