Salutations
Greetings all -
I have been lurking for weeks now and am really impressed with this community. Also the format is super. I am a member of a car form with the same format and really like the layout. I bought my first nice watch twenty years ago from a local store which did not carry Rolex. I stuck with the same brand all these years and and many watches but never tried a Rolex - then a month ago a sub was traded-in and I bought it on a lark. Well, I really like this beast. I decided that I'd like to buy an Explorer II so I called about six ADs in my area and visited four. The mall stores were not inviting. I settled on an independent AD with a nice detached location (which is also close to my favorite hotdog stand - this is not a knock on the location). I bought an Explorer II and have ordered a SD and a GMT Red/Blue. Plus I am very much excited about putting different bands on these watches. As a Rolex novice, I'm thankful for your community and support. Cheers, George Raleigh, North Carolina ps Tyler - Welcome to Fchat. |

Let me add my welcome to TRF, George. Glad you stopped lurking and jumped in here. Sounds like you you dived into the deep end of the Rolex pool. You're worse then I am when it comes to building an instant Rolex collection.
It took me two years to build a collection of DD's DJ's and a GMT. Plus a few other brands. Sounds like you're going to do it in a couple of months. More power to you. Keep on posting and join the fun of this madhouse.

Thank you all for the great welcome. And thank you Bruce for the super strap ideas. I'll be placing an order soon. My Exp II has a black face so I'm gonna go for the red stiching on the carbon band. Cheers, george
