Icon20 Daily Beater/Summer Watch Suggestions

Hello everyone,

I am looking to buy a daily beater, sub $10K watch. It would also be nice to wear it at the pool, beach and during the winter as a daily beater.

My current watches are all above $25K and I don't like to wear them carelessly, which is what this watch would be...

I was thinking, 50 fathoms, Sub ( not sure, everyone has one, maybe hulk)....any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

EDIT: It has to have a date comp.

I am leaning towards fifty fathoms but I am nowhere close to making up my mind.

My nice watches are nowhere near your price range, but my "beater" is a Seamaster 300m Chronograph 2225.80. It is a tank and obviously not scared of water. The blue dial really looks great to me and it keeps great time. May be on the low end of your budget, but to me serves the purpose of a "beater."

BP FF is a beautiful piece in person with heritage to boot. Hard to fault you on that choice, but be sure to buy smart as they go way below retail if I recall.

You're on rolexforums so I am going to have to vote Rolex gmt. I wear mine for pretty much anything.

Thanks for your input.
I have a YG GMT. I am not sure I want the same in SS.

Have you looked at JLC chronos? They are good casual watches with the complications you require.

I have looked, I am just not so sure about JLC sporty watches, I kind of prefer JLC as a dressy watch.

Something fun for a summer watch, the new Milgauss blue dial or maybe the Speedmaster 45th anniversary on nato.

Polar EXP II, PAM 190 or 232? 233 is a great Luminor option.

BP FF is a great choice. Also consider a blue dial Aqua Terra for a stunning watch at a great price. You could probably buy an Exp as well if you get good prices.

BP FF seems to be ahead of the others for now. Would it work on a 6' wrist? My AP FC44 seems to work. I wonder PAM 233 would work as well.

I am not an Omega brand fan tbh.

I am going to Orlando on the 22nd of June, so I have some time to decide before I can meet a certain someone there that can get me a good deal.

BFFs are gorgeous but I've heard of lots of issues, they don't appear to be as robust as Rolex/Omega etc...also polished case will show scratches more, shatter hazard on sapphire bezel (though not sure how much "beating" you'll subject it to).

Omega PO in 45mm is nice one, looks great on rubber strap, I've got one that is my official beater, it's a tank. Or the Sub/Sea Dweller, can't go wrong with those...that JLC looks really nice too!

A PAM would also work, again the high polished case will show scratches more, but they really look stellar in sunlight and are pretty versatile.

I think an FF would be a bit on the large side for a 6" wrist, unless it's a very flat wrist, at least the 45mm version.....if you were fortunate enough to track down a 40 mm version it would work..

I have a FF and love it
As you, I also have a small wrist, it is not a problem because its shape, I do recommend it as a sport daily wear watch.

Yes, Soly it should work as the BPFF wears smaller than 45mm and very similar and a touch smaller than an SS Diver.

So many options at that price, good summer watch would have some color. Red sub or maybe a Pepsi or Coke GMT
