Just saw the 590

Just saw the 590 on hodinkee. My first thoughts. Wow.

This is how the 8 days should be written. Classic Panerai style.

I like it.

What do you think?

Yeah, there's a thread a few months ago on it. I initially was very excited, but then the faux patina and especially the missing tick marks at 9 and 3 look pretty bad to me.

Yes the faux Patina. Why Way why. Can they not do something that will age nicely.?

Here's a thread with a bunch of live pix: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=333561

To me, the empty spaces look funny at 3 and 9. But, not having "8 DAYS" on the dial and the PIG on the back is pretty cool.

I think it looks nice, but I have a small wrist, so not for me.

I like it. If I was in the market for a 44, this would be a candidate.

I find it a bit too contrived - the '8 Giorni Brevettato' looks as though it does not belong, and I'm not a fan of faux patina
