SDc Question

For those of you which have seen the new SDc in person, is the flat finish on the dial similar to the Milgauss, the new black explorer II, etc? It's hard to tell from the pictures I've seen. Sometimes it appears glossy other times it appears flat.

What's a comparable Rolex watch which also has the same dial? So, I can image what it looks like in person. I haven't been able to find one in person yet.

It has a matte dial, not satin.

Looked closely at both my DSSD and the SDC, and the dials looked pretty much the same to me. Both with the same matte, satin, or whatever the finish is called.

I have the new SDc and the dial definitely has a flatter or more matt finish than some of the recent sport releases.

It's very flat and to me doesn't match the bezel

Seen better in this pic

The dial of the Milgauss GV has a more brownish tone to the dial...

The SDC dial is "satin" finished as mentioned which basically means something between matte (REAL matte like on the Sub Date 16800 for instance) and "semi-gloss".

Depending on light conditions (and angle), the SDC dial can look semi-gloss and jet black and at other times matte grey with just a little shine to it.

Here are a couple of pics I took:

Under incandescent light:

In the sun:

Indoors, light coming from the window. Watch at an angle. On this picture, the dial is looking almost as matte as on a Sub Date 16800:

Totally disagree the new SD is clearly flatter and lighter than other two

But everyone's eyes are different, my above pic is spot on for all to examine, if it helps, guess bottom line is go see it!

The dial is the same as the Deep sea. Looks a gorgeous matt finish and also looks deep black too. A stunning dial....

Thanks!

I guess I was just lucky... I find the satin / matte dial hard to capture.

Looking at the pic again, seems I was lucky to capture the LEC, too, or at least the shadow of it.

Got it here, too:

BTW.: the satin dial of the SDC does seem to be slightly more matte than seen on the DSSD?
