Ice!
No, not the bling kind, the real kind.....as in ice storm.
A few years ago we had yet another ice storm in Southern Ontario - we get these every few years. The worst one I recall was back in the late 70's, when we were out of school for 2 weeks and didn't have electricity for about 10 days. The one in these photos was not nearly that serious.......Hope you enjoy these - not quite as good as I'd hoped as I used my scanner at home to scan in the hardcopy prints. First, an image down my street...... Second is a close shot of a small bush.......shows the general thickness of the ice. We went for a drive that day to take some photos. no matter how hard I tried I could not capture the "sparkle" of the ice as it appeared live. I was quite disappointed in this when I received the prints back. Not sure how this can be captured, if at all........ This one shows what was a truly spectacular scene in real life. The sun was out and virtually everything was covered in ice. The fence, the tall grass along the side of the road, and all the trees were sparkling away like mad. |
