Rolex Variation Codes
Hi,
I am a Rolex newbie and new user here. I am curious if anyone know where to find a list of Rolex dial variation codes as well as other variation information to help identify a specific model and its variants. Thanks in advance, Rob |

Here's a great link for dials and bracelets: http://www.oysterworld.de/1/index.htm
For prices, if you search there is a link on here where you can download the latest price list in PDF format. Padi's link is great, but as far as I know doesn't have the latest prices updated. |

Welcome to TRF!
I made a thread a while back where I posted the Rolex AD master catalogue 2007/2008. Click here.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. I've viewed both links that members recommended. Very helpful information, although it didn't answer my orginal question. Allow me to provide a specific example, and hopefully someone would be able to help me decipher the mystery behind Rolex's Mfr. Catalog number.
Rolex Mfr. No. 17931339UB6313 I know this model is a 179313 Datejust 26mm dial, with bracelet type 63130. However, I couldn't tell from this number string the particular dial variation. If any knowledgeable member here could share some information on the dial variation table for Rolex, it would be much appreciated. Thanks again, Rob |

Apparantly, "39" means: 3: Black dial 9: "Sunbeam" (Roman) Not sure what the "U" stands for, though.

The dial code you are looking for is 9U and is a Mother of pearl dial with diamond number markers.

Great info, Mole!
What does the "3" mean then? "Black" MOP?

Awesome!
That is great info! Thanks for the help
I came across the same thread by doing a Google search yesterday. Was curious how other people determine how a watch looked when buying sight unseen. This is great help Rob |

Bo,
Good question! Black mother of pearl is with diamond markers OU and black mother of pearl with roman markers is OW. The "3" at the end of the style code above is part of the style number of the watch as opposed to the dial code. With the new styles they are adding numbers to the codes which are either not currently being used, or unknown. All of the new (updated) style Rolex watches have seven digit style codes. Cal. 3135 This table is for reference only, and only indicates how the watch should look, and how it did look when it left the factory. I cannot tell you how many watches I have seen which had an all stainless style code, and yet were steel and gold due to aftermarket mods. n:
