New Submariner - How did this happen???

This is a relatively new Submariner - 6 months old. It was not dropped, bumped or otherwise mishandled. Yesterday it just appeared this way. Any idea how this happened or what it is? Taking it to Rolex tomorrow but never seen something like this before

You were just wearing it and it just magically became dirty/scratched?

Edit: Sorry I reread my post and it came across wrong. Did it instantenously discolor on your wrist or did you put it away somewhere and didn't look at it for along time to find it in bad condition.

Looks to me like the dial posts came loose, send it back/take it back to Rolex as it is under warranty.

It was sitting on a shelf or a month or so then wore it for one day and the dial did this.

+1

The dial is held onto the movement by 2 pins soldered to the backside. If the 2 screws holding it are loose, the dial can rotate.

It probably did not harm the watch, but obviously needs attention.

Would agree to a point but very doubtful if dial could rotate as much as in picture.Myself have never seen anything like this in all the years of Rolex forums unless of coarse photo-shopped.

Don't send it in! That is the ultra rare factory blemish tilt-a-dial! You have a one in a million there! J/K of course.

I agree with John, that is a pretty good "spin" though. I don't think that it will be a major repair job. Please keep us posted as to how you make out.

Since it's a 'no date' it's not necessary to fix the dial under the cyclops. :D

It looks fine, I don't see any problem in seeing the time; it is 3:29

Honestly, I think I've seen this issue on this forum earlier too. Should be easy fix for Rolex AD/RSC and good luck!

It's barely noticeable. If it really bothers you, give it 5 years and let it get sorted in servicing. Relax and wear it in good health! :)

I'm i wrong when i say. That the pin of the crown have to keep the dial in place too.

Yeah, not only on Rolex, but on any watch. I can't think of any event supported by the laws of physics that would cause for this to happen.

Sorry OP, but I'm calling full on BS

Leave it the way it is, you'll be the only kid on the block with one like that.
Could start a new trend.

If I looked at my watch especially if it were that new and saw something like that I would freak. Every now and then my wife will tell me the R fell off my dial and I now have an olex.
Freaks me out every time.

Should be a quick fix but how did it happen in the first place?
Were you operating a jack hammer with it on?

I will give the OP the benefit of the doubt that it is real but I can fix in in 5 seconds in photoshop. I can even get the reflections right.
