When over-polishing goes too far
Poor Sub...never had a chance.

Is this your watch? If so, how many times and how was it polished.

Unfortunately, that is not possible since this was a gilt 5512 worth the price of a small Kia.
As for polishing a 6542, please do not do it. Even it is dinged up like swiss cheese, try to keep it original. If you can find a metalworker who is truly skillful and can promise to keep the polishing to a minimum, maybe let him/her do it. The 6542 is probably my second favorite watch after the 5517. Below is the best example that I've ever seen.

It looks like it had some serious dings they were trying to take out but still...

What happened to the good 'ol days where you just went blind if you rubbed it too much....

Looks like the guy put it in a vise and had at it with a belt sander with about a 120 grit.
That's going to need a new case and bezel.

Hey this needs a NSFW (not safe for watch) in the title. That way I would have covered my Sub's face before viewing.
