Submariner stopped running just 3 mo after RSC service!
Had sent my 16800 in for service at RSC NY because it stopped running. Now here we are just 3 mo later and it quit again.
I'll find out tomorrow, but does Rolex pay for shipping both ways? I feel that they should, especially when it's this soon after a complete $900.00 service. Hopefully, when I send it back, it won't take too long to repair it. It is summer after all. :) Anyone else have a problem with their watch this soon after a service?? |

Why ship it when you live so close?
If I were you I would call, explain situation, make an appointment to drop it off, take the LIRR in to Penn Station and take a nice walk east to Fifth or Madison and then north to 53rd. If for nothing else to experience their customer service and hospitality in person and make yourself a known entity to those in charge of customer relations.

I assume you've tried winding it 40+ turns?

@Trimmer 2, mjclark32....yes, gave it a full wind this morning and it stopped after an hr. Shook it and it ran for about 3 sec. Rinse, repeat...same thing.
@Jim M....been to RSC many times over the past 30+ years for both my watches and my wife's. In fact, I picked this watch up at the end of March, rather than have them ship it, because I wanted to inspect it under a Loupe. The train. I don't think so. A 20 block walk for this 71 yr old just isn't in the cards, with some of my medical conditions. |

I had that happen once BEFORE service, but never after. Yikes, hope they fix it (I'm sure they will).

Not complaining because obviously it's also gone up in value at the same time. |

Try winding it a full 40 turns clockwise & if that doesn't help I'm sure Rolex will sort it out. It has a warranty that they will honor.

Sounds like you got a lemon. Or don't take it the wrong way, you're doing something wrong. Either way, maybe it's time you separate the watch and yourself and find a new one that won't be such a headache

I don't think he's hesitating, just wondering if others have had the same experience.
Best of luck to the OP.

@Padi... what more info? Stopped, ie no hands movement. Nothing budges.
@buckwheat...it's under warranty. I can either send it back to RSC or take it to my local AD , Tourneau (which I hadn't thought of). Just got off the phone with RSC. @RollieVerde....as m j b said, not hesitating (it only stopped yesterday) @Presa canary....well, that's a bit extreme. It's a mechanical device. Even brand new watches can have problems. That's why there's a warranty. Plus, I really like this watch. I wear it far more often than my 16013 TT DJ. |

No, I can turn the hands manually to set the time. Plus, no unusual feel when winding.
I believe that's what I was stating in the op Padi. Just won't run, stopped telling time. I spoke to them this morning and no, they won't pay for return. Not a big deal. I'll know what's wrong when I take it to Tourneau on Thurs. |

It's the drive in that's a real PITA. Again, Tourneau is the first step. |

Thanks Billy. Now here's a twist. Just for grins, about a 1/2 hr ago, I manually advanced the time about 2 hrs and guess what ? It starting ticking again and has been running for that long.
I don't have great hopes that it will continue working (something made it stop) but who knows. |

Wow. That's interesting. I wonder if any of the fine watch techs (Yes, talking' 'bout you, V) have any thoughts on what might be going on. It's a genuine puzzle to the likes of me.
