Lost and Found Datejust...After 20 Years
20 or so years ago, my Mum thought that she lost her Datejust. However, yesterday, something akin to a miracle happened. She was throwing out some very old possessions including a pair of gloves that she only wore several times.
When she picked up the glove, she felt something inside it and noticed that it was unexpectedly heavy. She turned it upside down and lo and behold, what dropped out of it was her long lost friend! She was shocked not only by her find but also by the fact that the rubies and diamonds still retained their sparkle and that after winding the watch, the movement was still operational! My Mum had forgotten that she concealed her Datejust in the glove (the first time she had ever done it) just before she went overseas on a 10 month holiday (because she did not have enough time to put it in her bank safe). The glove was then hidden in several boxes amongst a sea of other stuff in the attic. By the time she returned from overseas, she had completely forgotten of what she did until her discovery yesterday! |

Wow. That's cool! But is that an aftermarket dial? And I didn't know they made full YG versions of the DJ.

If by aftermarket dial, you mean it's not a genuine Rolex dial, then no it isn't an aftermarket dial. She bought it from an authorised Rolex dealer in Singapore about 23 years ago and it was serviced by the Rolex Service Centre in Hong Kong a year or so after that. |

Wow, that's awesome. I've considered stashing mine like that before a trip and always feared forgetting as well. Though my holidays are not 10 months long either!
