Do you double check the serial number?

I will admit that when I bought my first Rolex, I didn't have them check the serial number against the case. Then again it was straight from the vault and the RSC verified it when I got it regulated.

Even with my wife's ladies DJ, we didn't check. So now I'm a little concern since it's a Y series. When we go to get the bracelet adjusted, I'm having them take the bracelet off and verify the serial.

I'm happy that the serial is engraved on the rehaute on my new YM. One less thing to worry about.

So how many of you actually double check the serial against the case?

Nope, but that was more because I was afraid to mark the lugs off while taking the springbar off. Now that I've gotten the hang of doing it right, I'll definitely be checking my next one.

Didn't occur to do this. Which side of my watch is the number on and how would I take the band off?

The serial number is between the 6 o'clock lugs. You can also check easier by the serial number engraved on the RBR at 6 o'clock.

Exactly the same thing here. I always make sure that the number on the green hangtag and certificate match, though.

That's one of the advantages of the RBR: You can easily check the serial number.

I have verified ALL my Rolex with the garantie, swimpruf tag and the case between the lugs. It just gives me peace of mind.

I got my Sea-Dweller last year from an AD in Honk Kong and I didn't bother to check the case until January 08. The serial was there and the number happily was the same as the documents.

Removing the SEL link was fairly OK, but getting it back was a fiddle.

Anyone keen on doing this with their SEL should have the following:
  • Masking tape
  • Bergeon Tool #3153 fitted with the 1.0mm springbar fork
  • A peaceful frame of mind

Good luck!

Steve
